Our Dreamtime Collection
Clean Ocean Foundation acknowledges the deep connections our traditional owners have to sea country and waterways.
It was important for us to demonstrate our respect through collaboration and the creation of an indigenous perspective of the Clean Ocean Foundation ethos.
Lionel is a Gunditjmara Kirrae Wurrung - Bunjalung Man. This means he is both a fresh water and salt water man.
Lionel says - “As a first nations people we look at water as a living being. We acknowledge and respect water as it is a living thing”, that “If you abuse it, it will get sick, disappear or die. We have a responsibility to care for country, this most definitely means caring for our water and waterways.”
Wah is the protector of the waterways and knowledge, this is a view from the story of where the land meets and intercepts with rivers and the sea.
Clean Ocean Foundation is proud to be partnering with Lionel Lauch in the creation of the dreamtime logo and apparel collection, which acknowledges the importance of Indigenous perspective in the preservation of Australian waterways.
